Ida Kincaid Dies At 86 At Convalescent Center
OROFINO - Mrs. Ida Kincaid, 86, Orofino, died Wednesday at about 7 a.m. at the Orofino Convalescent Center. Cause of death was unknown.
She was born May 31, 1886 at Swift Falls, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Swenson.
She moved to Park, Idaho with her parents when she was 5 years old. She lived there until about 1904, when she moved to Lewiston.
She married Albert Stamper on Oct 4, 1906. They farmed on Russell Ridge and moved to Orofino in 1915. In 1916 the couple homesteaded at Weiser and in 1922 they moved to Tamarack, where he logged. They moved to Lewiston in the fall of 1942, she worked for the Raymond Cafe.
Stamper died in 1944 and she married Charles Kincaid on April 12, 1949 at Lewiston. She retired in 1952, and they remained in Lewiston until 1970, when they moved to Orofino.
She was a member of the Orchards Community Church, even after she moved to Orofino.
Survivors include her husband Charles, Orofino; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Watkins, Mrs. Edward (Myrtle) Matson and Mrs. William (Christina) Tuomienon, all of Orofino; two sons Earl Stamper, Clarkson, and Cecil N. Stamper, Ahsahka; one brother, Edward Swenson, Lewiston; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gilbert's Funeral Home, Orofino, with the Rev. Peter D. Unruh, Genesee, officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis-Clark memorial Gardens.
